Figs are easy to start from hardwood cuttings. Simply stick them in well drained medium (we use peat/pearlite 1/1), keep the medium moist but not waterlogged, keep the humidity high with a plastic bag tent, and most cuttings will root and grow new shoots in a few weeks. You can do several in a pot together and transplant them when rooted. We collect cuttings in early winter, keep them in cold storage, and ship with scion wood in March. Cuttings will have 3-4 nodes, and will vary in thickness. Success is likely but not guaranteed! $9.00 flat rate shipping combines with scion wood and willow cuttings!
We ship in April for you to plant immediately. Flat rate $9.00 shipping includes any amount of scion wood, fig, and willow cuttings. Orders which include scion wood will ship in March. Cuttings can be kept in the refrigerator until planting, or started in a pot in a window. If you wish to receive scion wood in March and cuttings in April please make two orders.
