Allegany is an exciting new female hybrid bred by SUNY ESF in 1999 for biomass production. It is exceptionally vigorous, and is a great choice for stream bank stabilization and windbreaks. It also produces a large number of medium sized, 6' rods with minimal branching, with a nice green/tan color.
