SEEDLING KENTUCKY COFFEE TREE Gymnocladus dioicus 4 pack
Four (4) seedling Kentucky coffee trees. Native leguminous tree, large double compound leaves, large showy pods, seeds resemble marbles and very hard, used as a coffee substitute roasted by desperate people (not recommended) and all around showy specimen native tree. It has difficulty reproducing in the wild and is limited to "islands" possibly due to something currently missing it evolved with, like a large mammal that ate the pods and scarified the hard seeds. Due to its large leaves the tree has a pleasing chunky look in winter, hence the name, meaning naked branch. Zone 5 or perhaps colder. Tolerant of urban conditions. 9" easy to plant treepot, 4-6" seedlings
March shipment, $29 flat rate shipping for any quantity of trees and rootstocks
