RASPBERRIES

Less thorny and hardier than blackberries, both the red and black raspberry are native to the northeast.   The cultivars we offer are super productive and pruduce very large, sweet flavorful berries.   Black raspberries require a simple trellis, and red raspberries benefit from some wires strung to hold them up, because of the weight of all the fruit!  It can be a lot more casual than a grape trellis, just some t-posts.   Raspberries fill the gap between strawberries and tree fruit.  They are easy to sell and a great way to provide income in the second and third years of establishing an orchard.
