Macoun is an heirloom cross of macintosh and arkansas black. Midseason, heavy producer of flatish deep purple apples with a heavy waxy bloom, customers think they are plums! Crisp, juicy, sweet with a little acid, strong fruity grape notes. They taste so good people seek them out each season. Does not store well, and prone to scab like macintosh.
